| Where to stay
Holiday apartments and villas If you don't like the impersonal formality of big hotels, why not stay in a self-catering apartment or villa? We can offer you a selection of carefully vetted properties, chosen for people who want to stay somewhere comfortable - somewhere close enough to the sea, shops and market but still quiet. We have properties in Yalta and also in Gurzuf, a smaller resort in few km down the coast, where playwright Anton Chekhov had his dacha. And this year for the first time, we can offer apartments in historic Sevastopol, scene of the Crimean War and the Charge of the Light Brigade.
Hotels Featured Hotels YALTA The Seasons Hotel in Yalta combines reasonable prices with good quality rooms, an excellent restaurant (with tasteful live jazz in the evenings) and all the facilities of a health complex. You can use it as a base for a beach holiday or to explore Crimea, and, if you're in the mood to be pampered, take a massage or one of Crimea's world-famous therapeutic mud treatments.
Hotel Bristol is the oldest hotel in Yalta and was the property of the Russian Imperial family until the 1870s. Now a listed building, it has been completely refurbished, and its rooms combine respect for the building's history with tasteful up to date decor and great views of the harbour and mountains from its upper floor balconies. The hotel is just around the corner from Yalta's Massandra beach and the seafront, shops and restaurants. Hotel Bristol has its own restaurant, with indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar, sauna, nightclub and other facilities.
The Massandra Hotel is situated in the Massandra Park, 15 minutes' walk from the centre of Yalta, and a few minutes' walk from the Massandra beach. Rooms are modern with ensuite bathroom, fridge, TV and balcony. Breakfast is served in the hotel's own restaurant and another excellent restaurant - the Avalon - is only a stone's throw away. If you're looking for peace and quiet, away from the bustle of the town centre, this is the one to go for.

BALAKLAVA If you're looking for somewhere to stay in the historic Sevastopol area, why stay in a big hotel in the city when you can stay in picturesque Balaklava. Only 15 minutes by car from Sevastopol, the Golden Symbol Hotel offers peace and quiet in the harbour town where the British, French and Turkish forces were based during the Crimean War. This is where the Light Brigade were billeted, where Mary Seacole set up her `British Hotel' to feed the soldiers and look after the wounded, and where ships left daily to take them to Florence Nightingale in Scutari. The Golden Symbol Hotel has its own private harbour on this quiet inlet, only a few minutes walk from the medieval Genoese fortress and the open sea.
SEVASTOPOL Hotel Gostevoi Dom (The Guest House) This small 21-room hotel is a pleasant change from the monolithic hotels in Sevastopol's city centre. Not far from from the rocky seashore to the west of the city, it's only 20 minutes' walk to historic Khersonessus, where you can visit the ruins of the Byzantine city which stood here before it was sacked by the Tatars in the 14th century. A short bus or taxi ride in the other direction will bring you to the heart of Sevastopol. The hotel has modern en suite rooms with cable TV and fridge.
